The Friends of the Wall Invites You
On behalf of “The Friends of the Wall,” an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that supports and promotes the Texas State Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Fair Park in Dallas and veterans and their families, and educates the public about the Memorial,” we invite you to “the 30th annual run to the Texas Wall” on November 7, 2020.
Thousands Have Participated In this Memorial Event!
This event has taken place every year since it’s inauguration in 1989 when president George Bush delivered the dedication speech. Since then, thousands of Texans and people from around the world have visited this memorial and have paid their respects to the heroes listed on the wall and to all veterans and active duty US Military personnel regardless of when or where they served.
Over 30 years, this memorial has evolved in its meaning and its stature. During this time it has become a focal point for all to visit and to show their love and respect for all who wore, or wear, the uniform of the United States military. In accordance with the significance of this memorial and understanding that “The Friends of the Wall”, get no money from the government, city, state or federal and that they are funded only by donations from people like you and me, we are asking you, and anyone you know, to participate in this year’s “Run to the Texas Wall” event.
